Something to Chew On
They were looking for an event giveaway that went beyond the normal business card. An item that would be kept for a few days following a tradeshow, the time needed to chew over the information they had received and a reminder as to VideoEgg.com's mantra of "Nice Works."
The client decided they'd like to hand out gum, but not your typical sticks or gumballs -- they needed to have the appearance of a higher-end candy. They also wanted packaging that had a large imprint area and allowed for execution of a glorious full-color imprint.
The resulting decision used a relatively new product called a "Gumvelope." A large 4" X 2-1/2" package that has a 4-color process wrap-around imprint, and holds a foil-burst package of 12 pieces of sugar-free peppermint gum (also available in cinnamon.)

As testimony to the success, the client has reordered the product at least three times. The relatively quick production time (5-days) has allowed for some incredible last-minute fulfillment challenges that the New York area manufacturer has always met without error.
The client has made requests for a more denture-friendly version of the gum and for a traditional "bubblegum" flavor. Unfortunately (as of this writing) neither request can be met. When you're dealing with a product this new, it might take time for additional options to added. I've found no other manufacturers of this product, save one whose price is so much higher that I suspect they are getting the product from the same company and marking it up for resale.
